Air vs Helium
AIR: Filling a confetti balloon with air is the easiest way to get your confetti to cling to the sides of your balloon. However, this option does not allow your balloon to float. Still is a very pretty room scatter and decoration. (I recommend air filling due to helium being so finicky)
HELIUM: Using a balloon pump add a few puffs of air first and the rest helium. The air will help the confetti cling to the sides of the balloon and the helium will allow it to float. IMPORTANT, only using helium will cause the confetti to pool at the bottom of the balloon. Confetti balloons have a shorter float time due to the added weight of the confetti inside, so should be inflated as close to the event as possible.
Air Filling
1) Please Always inflate the balloons with a balloon pump.
Due to the small parts inside the confetti balloons we do not recommend inflating by mouth. Warm air from your lungs can also result in condensation inside the balloon and will make them cloudy.
2) Make sure the balloon is properly inflated
Most of our balloons are 12″ and if not fully inflated may appear cloudy as the latex has not been stretched enough. Do not over-inflate as the balloon will pop. 11″ is generally the happy spot.
3) Liven the Confetti
Rubbing all sides with a natural fabric such as a washcloth or sock to create static will help the confetti stick to the sides of the balloon. Give it a good shake also.
*Helium:
1) Use a blend of air and helium
Using a balloon pump add a few pumps of air first and the rest helium. The air will help the confetti cling to the sides of the balloon and the helium will allow it to float. If you only use helium, you will find that the confetti will gather at the bottom of the balloon. (this is what I mean by finicky)
2) If a balloon is not inflated fully it may not float due to the weight of the confetti inside, this is one of the most common reasons for confetti balloons not floating. Do not over-inflate as the balloon will pop. (again finicky)
3) Liven the confetti
Rubbing all sides with a natural fabric like a wool or sock to create static will help the confetti stick to the sides of the balloon. If you are having trouble getting the confetti to stick to the sides, you may need more air pumps. (... finicky)
NOTICE: Use helium at your own risk. We do not take responsibility for helium mishaps.
